Places We Love – Leon Restaurant
Leon is a chain restaurant with a difference – since their inception, they have always aimed to create ‘healthy fast food’ made from simple, natural foods. It’s one of my favourite places to go when I need to grab food on the run. I love that a large portion of their food is organic, that they source their meat from sustainable sources and work with individual farmers, and never include shady ingredients in their food. They even eschew white sugar in their sweet treats in favour of fruit sugar. So I feel good putting my lunch money behind a company that keeps innovating and is changing the high street food scene.
There are plenty of options available that still allow you to stay on the healthy track (check out the menu here).
When I stopped by the other day, I got a serving of baked falafel on top of greens, cherry tomatoes, and quinoa, topped with shredded carrots and vinaigrette:
And a side of hummus:
It really hit the spot! Leon is also the place that invented the much-imitated Superfood Salad, which I regularly get (without the feta). Other great options include veggie curries, brown rice, delish soups and plenty of other salads.
There are Leons all over London these days; next time you’re looking for good food on the go, stop in and give it a try!
